Hi,
Well I'd never even heard of a blue banded fly, but then I saw this last week and since then I've seen two - now I know what I'm looking at. I live in a muddy in NW and happy to help but can you give more details on the nests so I can look around?

Thanks,
Kel

From Ron:
Thanks Mick - oddly, my wife and I were talking about this just the other day, when we realised that the "FDR" districts were not subsets of the Fire Ban districts. We then started wondering if North Warrandyte was in Central or North Central for Fire Danger Ratings. Pretty important, given that at one stage North Central was being considered for a Code Red.

It's good to know now that we are Central for both, but it would be good to know where the boundaries are for FDRs (i.e. how close we are to North Central).

Cheers,

Ron

I have been told that one our residents asked to see the insurance certificate of one of these guys. He initially flashed a document but she insisted on reading it and when she did so, she found that the document was not in the name of this guy but a copy a certificate for a genuine arborist that she was already dealing with! She sent the guy away as he clearly was not insured.
