I have just received the link to the Warrandyte Community Association and the Submission to the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission.
It makes very interesting reading and raises the issues we have been talking about as a group.
We should acknowledge the tremendous amount of effort put in by Bruce Davidson and the team.

There is a bit of misunderstanding in the submission:
On Page 14. “Could http://www.warrandytechat.com be used as source of FFDI information?”
I am not sure where this came from.
Obviously, the Bureau of Meteorology is the prime source of FFDI (and GFDI).
I have put links on Warrandyte Chat to enable us to rapidly check the FDI outlook for the next 3 days – these pages are well buried in the BOM site.
Also, the site is happy to host discussion on the topic of FDI.
