The meeting last night was well attended with, I guess, 250 locals. It was a valiant effort by the Warrandyte Community Association to give everyone an opportunity to voice their opinions, concerns and suggestions.
It started with an introduction from Dick Davies and a pledge to put together the output of the forum as a submission to the Royal Commission by 18th May.
However, Dick also encouraged individual submissions to the Royal Commmission by anyone who felt that they had additional points to raise.
Bruce Turner did an excellent job of getting the large audience to participate in a small group discussion and then managed a very vocal and lively session gathering all the various points for deeper discussion.
There were some topics which created quite a stir in the hall, not least the provision of better means of crossing the river either by widenning the bridge or providing a second crossing point.
In total 17 different discussion points were raised by the group for further elaboration.
We felt that all had been given opportunity to speak out and we look forward to the publication of the submission to the Royal Commission.
