Nearly everyone I have spoken to in our CFG has been talking about the possibility of installing fire shelters/refuges.
Meegan & Peter have given me details of one of the options the local kindergarten is considering:- www.FireShelters
.com
You will see there is some useful information for consideration in their “FAQ’s”.
There are already many alternative suppliers and I am sure there will be more to come. Please send me links to other sites.
[Editor's comment: Warrandyte Chat and its contributors offer no opinion on the suitability of any manufacturer/supplier/installer of fire shelters and refuges - just like the CSIRO, Australian Standards, CFA etc.]

Hi,
We just had a new Fire Shelter installed this week.
My wife and I spent many long hours researching the best designs and value. We came up with the best system from http://www.fireproofshelters.com.au they had a big advantage where all the main components are fire rated and Australian standards compliant.
The other big factor was the price, they supplied a large size shelter with lots of room to breathe for the same as the others small shelter, which we both felt was far too cramped and had much less margin for error.
One things for sure we now feel a lot more confident this coming fire season!
